Day 08- Short term goals for this month and why

  • manage time wisely for midterms and assignments
  • do well on midterms and assignments
  • exercise at least 3 times a wk, at least one full workout out of the 3
  • drink more water
  • take time to slow down once in a while

  • I don’t want to be too stressed out with academics AND social activities in October
  • I want to maintain good grades and good habits
  • I want to be healthier and take better care of myself
  • It is a good reminder to stop and take a breather instead of always rushing to do the next thing

Day 07- A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you

The world around me has the biggest impact on me.
When I was younger, it was definitely my inner circle that had the biggest impact on me, but as I grow and learn, I reach out further than just what is around and familiar to me. I’ve attended lectures, performances, movie screenings, talks. I’ve read blogs, articles, stories, books from people. I’ve watched movies and shows. I’ve listened to interviews and people’s stories. Furthermore, there are so many things that impact me without my conscious knowledge, I think it’s only fair to include what I may not directly interact with. Everything is connected. Everything has an impact. Whether it is the world closest/most well-known to me or the world at large, my behaviors, thoughts, and beliefs are shaped by all of it.

Day 06- Favorite superhero and why

Growing up, I didn’t really have a favorite superhero. My first memory of the superhero type would have to be the Power Rangers. I loved that there were two girls on the team–the Yellow Ranger and Pink Ranger. Pink was my favorite, although I’m not entirely sure why. I chose to be her for my first time going trick-or-treating. We used to watch the show on TV and we even had a special birthday episode or movie on VHS. I can’t remember how many times we watched that tape..

So many years have passed, but I can remember and picture distinct scenes or memories from the show. We started with the Mighty Morphin’ series, then moved on to the series when they became Ninjas. I remember loving Tommy, the White Ranger, in that series. That was when the White and Pink Rangers were in love.

I eventually lost interest once the original cast started getting slowly replaced. They weren’t so cool anymore. I didn’t know who the new people were even though they had the same color uniforms. To me, the Power Rangers would always be Trini, Billy, Jason, Kimberly, Zack, and Tommy.

Day 05- A picture of somewhere you’ve been to

I’ve been away from familiar faces and places.
I’ve soared up above with the whitest and fluffiest clouds.
I’ve seen the brightest combinations of blues.
This place was simply a pathway to my final destination,
but the stillness and beauty of being up in the sky was incomparable.

Day 04- A habit that you wish you didn’t have

As a human, I’m flawed and in this society there is this incessant drive to be ‘perfect’.
Well, I don’t want to be perfect; I don’t believe it exists in human form.
We are meant to make mistakes, to learn, and to grow. Perfection means none of that.
What we should be doing is wanting to become better, not perfect.
What would I want to change so that I may be better?

Honestly, there are numerous habits that I wish I didn’t have. Procrastination, I think though, would take the cake for being the one thing I’d want to get rid of. It leads to a stem of not-so-good situations and circumstances. As if life is not complicated as it is.

Day 03- A picture of you and your friends

This was from 4th grade. Naively named “Friends 4ever”
Since then, friends have come and gone.
I realize that different friends mean a different me.
Definitely possible that it’s the other way around–a different me means different friends.

Day 02- The meaning behind your blog name

When I decided to start this blog, it was supposed to be an anonymous place for me to express and share my thoughts. I wanted this to be a self-reflection thing for me. I have no intention of having readers or subscriptions. Ironically though, the blog name, Mine To Yours, represents how my thoughts would become your [the reader’s] thoughts. I think my header, Thoughts to Words, relates to my original purpose more accurately. The blog is a place for me to put my thoughts into words. All the things in my head will have a place to be spelled out.
